This is pretty much the first time I've ever had a problem that's really just driving me nuts, without being able to find anything even remotely resembling someone complaining about a similar problem, much less a solution.
I'm pretty sure it's not the mouse. No matter what browser I'm in, or what I do, the middle click acts like I just hit the F4 button. Command + Left Click still works to open new tabs, as does Command + Middle Click. But I use middle click to open new tabs almost as much as I left click at all, (what can I say, I feel it's essential to browsing forums,) and just about every time I try to do that and the calculator/weather/time/calendar pops up, I die just a little in my soul.
I have scoured the system preferences for anything resembling a mouse reset, or middle click settings, or shortcuts, or F$ or function problems that might be the culprit, but they've been as unhelpful as Google. (All 'middle click problems' seem to be just people complaining about Firefox, and as I said, it's not the browser, because even if I just middle click on the Desktop, it still makes the things pop up. Anyway, I use Safari, so it matters even less..)
Can anyone help me?

A trackpad or touchpad can support all sorts of gestures but it seems that a middle-click doesn’t always make the cut. On Windows 10, it can be enabled pretty easily. On macOS, and for MacBooks, it’s not as easy. Uninstall apps on mac. The good news is, you can enable middle-click on a Macbook with a free app called MiddleClick. Middle-click on MacBook. The allowed 'click to perform' is Click, Double click, Triple click, and Right click, as well as adding modifiers. What about Middle click? It would be great to be able to use the Advanced click setting and be able to do a SHIFT + Middle click and assign that to an unused button (like the back button, for example).
